Aerial video footage from areas in the South and Midwest, including Kentucky, show a trail of destruction left by devastating storms and tornadoes.

More than two dozen people were killed and dozens more injured as powerful tornadoes and severe storms ripped across Illinois, Missouri, Indiana, Kentucky, Virginia and even parts of the Washington, D.

Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear said 19 people in the state had died from the storms, many in Laurel County in the southern part of the state. The storm system also killed seven people in Missouri and two in Virginia when it rolled through the region, authorities said.
